Mezhyhirya Residence Tour Guide
The Honka is a luxurious 5 story building consisting of decorative wood flooring on 3 floors, and the remaining two-floor plans feature marble.
You will be transported by car 25 km north of Kyiv by your guide. As you explore the “”museum of corruption”” territory, you will be shocked and impressed.
This one of the “”must visit”” private tour guide destinations in Ukraine.
You will be picked up, buy our guide from your chosen location and begin the 35-45 minute drive to Mezhyhirya Residence. At this time begins the proper explanation of how Viktor Fedorovych Yanukovych came to power, as the mafia ruled the country before and during the last revolution.
Upon arrival at the glamorous estate, your guide will lead you to the guarded front gate, and your entrance tickets will be purchased. The territory is 140 hectares (1 hectare = 2.47 acres), but we may not visit the entire area.
Tour the Outside of Mezhyhirya Residence
On the territory are three garages; the closest garage contains the five cars Yanukovych used every day. Subsequently, after the revolution, these cars went missing. In the second garage are nearly 50 rare vehicles. The third garage was built for 130 cars, but it was not completed due to the revolution.
Beyond the garages are laboratories, and at that time, there were only two in Ukraine. One of them was used for testing all food and products, as he was terrified of being poisoned.
A brief walk will lead to the garden where they grow greenhouse vegetables and fruits year-round which are environmentally friendly.
Near the park is the farm, where he raised animals, organic and fresh meat daily (pigs, cows, sheep, and similar animals). You can see ostriches, peacocks, turkeys, deer, donkeys, sheep, and equal animals for viewing in the zoo.

After viewing the gardens and zoo, the main attraction is the Honka. The tour of the home begins with the sports recreation complex featuring a bowling alley. Next, you will view the winter garden full of parrots and different species of birds.
Next is the spa, where you can see the oxic baths, cryo baths, massage room, and salt room, simulating a natural cave.
In the sports hall under a glass dome, you will see furniture made of crocodile leather, rarely used, and in brand new, perfect condition.
Walking away from the glass dome, you will find yourself in a mysterious room with a closet, a set of doors, and many identical pairs of furnishings.
Behold a secret door, and when you find this door of secrets, you will be in the underground galleries.
During the time of Yanukovych, the underground galleries were home to nearly 500 paintings on the walls.
This tunnel leads back to the main building, where you will find a bar with a spacious lounge (reception hall), several new kitchens.
The tunnel was utilized for transporting food to Yanukovych in the dining room.
At this time during the tour, you will experience marble mosaic flooring (spectacularly expensive marble stairs and flooring, imported from many continents) in a grand room showcasing Ukrainian artistry and weaponry belonging to medieval warriors.
A view of the gorgeous church can be seen near the Yanukovych bedroom, visited by priests with services once a week and on holidays.
Adorning the walls were rare icons and the 700-year-old gospel.
The bedroom of Yanukovych (complete with impressive scenery from balconies, terraces) offers sensational views.
Lastly, you will explore the territory around the building’s fountains and waterfalls.
Usually, people experience different feelings upon exiting the extravagant building as the museum of corruption ends.
